ARTIST STATEMENT:
My paintings are a reflection of who I am as an artist. I take advantage of opportunities that portray themselves to me and suddenly perceive the beauty in every one of them. I manipulate colour on canvas to create textures, beauty, drama, and harmony, and until I feel that I have completely exhausted my expression I will not take my hands of the canvas.
I am attracted to subjects that are in action, say gestures, a dancer, a musician, or anyone in an activity in that way I can dramatize my composition. I focus on a specific area of interest on the subject say the movement of the feet or the twisting of her robe and the details are usually left out to the viewer’s imaginations.
